Lady Danger

Had 12 empty cartons to take back to mac yesterday! I got a back up candy yum yum and thought I'd give lady danger a try. Wow love this it's a gorgeous colour an orange based red that does run more orange on me. Love the finish of this - I'm a sucker for mac matte lippies at the moment the colour lasts forever and a day and there's no colour transfer - in other words I went out last night for seven hours and didn't reapply once. Another winner by MAC :)

MAC hot nights

I'm a sucker for MAC and since my palette has a space in it my OCD took over and I needed to fill that space. So thought I'd get a blush I couldn't decide what colour but have been drawn to hot nights in the new LE collection. I'm a bit anal and wanted my palette to all be colour coordinated but what good that if I haven't got the colours in it I actually want! Anyway grabbed hot nights popped home and depotted it to pop into my palette. This blush is a gorgeous purple/magenta that has some serious colour pay off you literally need to slightly swipe your brush across the top of the blush and that gives you more than enough colour. It seems to have pretty good lasting power too. Overall love the blush! Now wishing I'd also picked up ripe for love in the same collection!
Hot nights is top left in the photo.

Sculpting Powder and Shaping Powder

Today my new goodies arrived - yay just in time for the sunshine :) I had a blusher palette for 6 blush and had pro sculpting powder pan in sculpt and the shaping powder in accentuate. Well I already own a gazillion highlighters and taupe blush as a contour so it wasn't really a vital purchase but hey ho!
Well what can I say sculpt I'd perfect as a contour and some blendable - I love taupe but can see why it's a blush as opposed to a shaping powder taupe is more sheer and has a slight sheen, sculpt is perfectly matte. In the pan there's a slight difference and sculpt looks more orange based but on the skin it looks like the perfect shadow whereas taupe looks a little ashy and dirty if applied too heavily.

Accentuate is a shaping powder ie highlighter for those areas you want to bring forward - cheekbones, brow bones, centre of nose, Cupid's bow. It's fab and unlike any highlighter I already own (surprisingly) its rather sheer and has absolutely no glitter yay! It's a light pinky colour which leans towards a white - perfect!

These product will no doubt become my HG products. Thank you MAC yet another winner :)

MAC nail varnish girl about town.

Never really fancied MAC nail polishes before find it hard to pay that amount of money but I had to buy this one it's a gorgeous colour and after a couple of coats my nails are perfectly covered in a creamy pink that's pure high gloss! Love it and seems another mac product ill be addicted too!

MAC summer shower Lipstick

Love my postman delivering me new goodies and today's were as exciting as ever. I'd been trying to track down this lippy for months as it was limited edition a while back. It's fab on its own for summer or to add a bit of summery feeling to flat matte colours. I finally found one new and boxed from an eBay seller I rate very highly and have used a few times before, I got it for a bargain £3.20 posted love it! It doesn't run green at all on me it looks almost pearlescent blue/purple. Pictures below of the lipstick and it on my lips (excuse the seriously bad hair!)

Ruby woo

I have been and will probably continue to be in search of the perfect pillar box red. I've tried so many and thought I'd hit the nail on the head purchasing ruby woo how ever I do love love love the colour but its running fairly pinky red on me - maybe this is because of my pigmented lips? I've tried nude liner underneath but it turns even more pink! I do love the matte finish and the staying power and it'll get its use! Ah well the search continues (good excuse to keeping buying hey?)
Xx

Myth satin lipstick

I was desperate for a nude lippy but with a good coverage after my hue disaster I popped to MAC an picked up the original one I wanted - myth. This is a great nude, I have fairly pink pigmented lips so this does run a slightly pink nude on me which is fab because on lighter skin/less pigmented lips I think it could easily look a bit "concealer" lips.

MAC Style blush

Oooohhhh I'm in love with this its stunning a real peachy coral very pigmented and highly buildable. It's a frost so does have a gold sheen through it I'm thinking perfect blush/highlighter combo with a tan :)

MAC coppering

In desperate attempt to fill my last 5 e/s spaces in my duo palette I reached for coppering! I love it its a coppery orange colour and cannot wait to try it with cranberry or satin taupe! Another beaut mac thanking you!! X

MAC Extra Dimension Shape the Future

After my illamasqua disaster I took my refund straight to MAC 😍 I wanted a msf without any glitter just a good old sheen, these LE msf are gorgeous they only had this one in stock and I'm loving the dark with the lighter highlighter they look fantastic as a highlighter and a bronzer or swirled together to make a gorgeous colour. Fell in love so quickly I bagged the last 2!

New lippy Hue

Got this in back to mac. I want in looking for the perfect nude to pair with smokey eyes. The MAC SA suggested hue although I was initially drawn to myth. I went with her advice and have to be honest I wish I hadn't I like lippy to stay put not wear off quickly this is a glaze and on me wears off in maybe 30 minutes. I decided I'd try concealer as a base partly because it may stay longer but also because I have quite pigmented lips and this looked rather pink on me not the nude I was hoping for. Anyway still not that impressed and I WILL be purchasing myth ASAP along with sub culture lip pencil.
Swatch on hand below.

MAC Lustre Drops

Recently I've become utterly obsessed with highlighters in any form powder or liquid. I'm big into contouring and love the "where the natural light hits look" in other words cheekbones, middle of nose, brow bone, middle of chin and forehead and the Cupid's bow for pouty lips. I saw lustre drops a while back and did some research someone mentioned they remind them of a grown up version of benefit high beam and moon beam - I used these years ago so why not give MAC a chance?! I could go back to benefit but tbh I've become a mac snob and like my make up collection to be purely one brand - plus MAC is cheaper about £4 cheaper!!
To start with I just ordered pink rebel this is described as a blue based pink bronzed - I cannot in any way shape or form see any blue in it?! Anyway it arrived I ripped it open - loving the little bottle although I do wonder how great it'll be when/if it ever starts to run out. Anyway I'd already read not to rub these onto make up but to pay it in. I absolutely love the natural glow it gives! At first I couldn't really see it but once in the day light it looked fab. Straight away I got online and ordered sun rush.

Sun rush arrived today and it is a lot more golden than pink rebel but again a fab fab highlighter I also tried it under MAC pigment golden lemon to give it an extra boost and with it being more bronze I dripped two drops into my foundation and used all over my face. I've had two people stop me to say how well I look (guessing I normally look like shit!)

Big tip for applying is do your make up and then put three drops on cheek bone smudge this into place and pat pat pat I then swirl over with my HG 187 brush just to blend altogether. I tried it today as my highlighter when contouring and very happy with the results. Well worth £17.50 a bottle (18ml) it'll last a long long time.

Pictures below pink rebel on the right sun rush left. On my hand pink rebel is the too and sun rush at the bottom. Bare in mind I didn't blend to hard as I wanted you to see the colours.

MAC Face and Body Foundation

I've always used MAC mineralise creme compact foundation in nw20 - during my pale winter days and nw25 when I go out in an evening or as the weather warns up. I've read a lot of good things about mac face and body and after selling my le rihanna lippy for £100 yes some crazy lady paid £100 for it I decided to splurge and where better than MAC in Selfridges Manchester. I had the help of a lovely girl who agreed n3 was a little light and n5 wow too dark on me! We mixed the two together as MAC don't make a n4 really MAC come on!! The mix was perfect meaning two bottles would be purchased at 20.50 each! More on that later! Anyway I have to same I've been wearing n3 alone for work and the mix when I've been going out - n5 will be perfect when I have a tan (going travelling for 3 months so hoping ill get me usage). I mixed the two in a pot so I don't have to try to mix on face on back of my hand I'm guessing I'm using slightly more n5 the n3 for the night time look. I love the consistency of this yes it goes on VERY watery but if you apply in circular motions with your, clean, fingers you can feel the product thickening an becoming more elastic feeling, it's so buildable, I've been apply two layers each time and found that sustainable to give a good medium coverage. I have fairly oily skin and this doesn't leave me looking greasy or shiny. I love it my new HG foundation. Even better its water resistant and it really is I tried it I covered my tattoo on my foot and went swimming when I got out my tattoo was still covered! Saying that it does wash off incredibly easy with make up remover - I'm in love!!! Goodbye mineralize hello face an body!
My only gripe is that I paid 20.50 for each 50ml bottle online on mac cosmetics you can get 120ml (over double the size) for 26.50 that's a £6 difference - kicking myself for being so so impatient! Ah well I may get bored and these will last a long long time! Ill update in a few months as I have read comments that if it gets too warm it separates ruining the product :-/
I have swatched the colours and bare in mind I like to be around the warmer side of nw20 - nw25. The swatches are l-r n3, my mixed n4 and n5.
Thanks for reading :) xx

Can't complain about MACs customer service!

Wow mac really are great, I spend a fortune a month on their products so I do deserve some kind of honour in return. Recently I went to the mac store in Birmingham and was sold gold deposit I'm nw25 and this stuff looked like orange sludge on me! When I took it back they weren't interested at all in helping me, I emailed MAC and have just had a response they are sending modify and gentle and have apologised profusely. My faith in human kind has been restored!
