Lady Danger

Had 12 empty cartons to take back to mac yesterday! I got a back up candy yum yum and thought I'd give lady danger a try. Wow love this it's a gorgeous colour an orange based red that does run more orange on me. Love the finish of this - I'm a sucker for mac matte lippies at the moment the colour lasts forever and a day and there's no colour transfer - in other words I went out last night for seven hours and didn't reapply once. Another winner by MAC :)

MAC hot nights

I'm a sucker for MAC and since my palette has a space in it my OCD took over and I needed to fill that space. So thought I'd get a blush I couldn't decide what colour but have been drawn to hot nights in the new LE collection. I'm a bit anal and wanted my palette to all be colour coordinated but what good that if I haven't got the colours in it I actually want! Anyway grabbed hot nights popped home and depotted it to pop into my palette. This blush is a gorgeous purple/magenta that has some serious colour pay off you literally need to slightly swipe your brush across the top of the blush and that gives you more than enough colour. It seems to have pretty good lasting power too. Overall love the blush! Now wishing I'd also picked up ripe for love in the same collection!
Hot nights is top left in the photo.

Sculpting Powder and Shaping Powder

Today my new goodies arrived - yay just in time for the sunshine :) I had a blusher palette for 6 blush and had pro sculpting powder pan in sculpt and the shaping powder in accentuate. Well I already own a gazillion highlighters and taupe blush as a contour so it wasn't really a vital purchase but hey ho!
Well what can I say sculpt I'd perfect as a contour and some blendable - I love taupe but can see why it's a blush as opposed to a shaping powder taupe is more sheer and has a slight sheen, sculpt is perfectly matte. In the pan there's a slight difference and sculpt looks more orange based but on the skin it looks like the perfect shadow whereas taupe looks a little ashy and dirty if applied too heavily.

Accentuate is a shaping powder ie highlighter for those areas you want to bring forward - cheekbones, brow bones, centre of nose, Cupid's bow. It's fab and unlike any highlighter I already own (surprisingly) its rather sheer and has absolutely no glitter yay! It's a light pinky colour which leans towards a white - perfect!

These product will no doubt become my HG products. Thank you MAC yet another winner :)

Pictures pro palette - top right accentuate, top left sculpt, middle left taupe, middle right style, bottom left sunbasque

MAC nail varnish girl about town.

Never really fancied MAC nail polishes before find it hard to pay that amount of money but I had to buy this one it's a gorgeous colour and after a couple of coats my nails are perfectly covered in a creamy pink that's pure high gloss! Love it and seems another mac product ill be addicted too!

MAC summer shower Lipstick

Love my postman delivering me new goodies and today's were as exciting as ever. I'd been trying to track down this lippy for months as it was limited edition a while back. It's fab on its own for summer or to add a bit of summery feeling to flat matte colours. I finally found one new and boxed from an eBay seller I rate very highly and have used a few times before, I got it for a bargain £3.20 posted love it! It doesn't run green at all on me it looks almost pearlescent blue/purple. Pictures below of the lipstick and it on my lips (excuse the seriously bad hair!)

Ruby woo

I have been and will probably continue to be in search of the perfect pillar box red. I've tried so many and thought I'd hit the nail on the head purchasing ruby woo how ever I do love love love the colour but its running fairly pinky red on me - maybe this is because of my pigmented lips? I've tried nude liner underneath but it turns even more pink! I do love the matte finish and the staying power and it'll get its use! Ah well the search continues (good excuse to keeping buying hey?)
Xx

Myth satin lipstick

I was desperate for a nude lippy but with a good coverage after my hue disaster I popped to MAC an picked up the original one I wanted - myth. This is a great nude, I have fairly pink pigmented lips so this does run a slightly pink nude on me which is fab because on lighter skin/less pigmented lips I think it could easily look a bit "concealer" lips.

MAC Style blush

Oooohhhh I'm in love with this its stunning a real peachy coral very pigmented and highly buildable. It's a frost so does have a gold sheen through it I'm thinking perfect blush/highlighter combo with a tan :)

MAC coppering

In desperate attempt to fill my last 5 e/s spaces in my duo palette I reached for coppering! I love it its a coppery orange colour and cannot wait to try it with cranberry or satin taupe! Another beaut mac thanking you!! X

MAC Extra Dimension Shape the Future

After my illamasqua disaster I took my refund straight to MAC 😍 I wanted a msf without any glitter just a good old sheen, these LE msf are gorgeous they only had this one in stock and I'm loving the dark with the lighter highlighter they look fantastic as a highlighter and a bronzer or swirled together to make a gorgeous colour. Fell in love so quickly I bagged the last 2!

New lippy Hue

Got this in back to mac. I want in looking for the perfect nude to pair with smokey eyes. The MAC SA suggested hue although I was initially drawn to myth. I went with her advice and have to be honest I wish I hadn't I like lippy to stay put not wear off quickly this is a glaze and on me wears off in maybe 30 minutes. I decided I'd try concealer as a base partly because it may stay longer but also because I have quite pigmented lips and this looked rather pink on me not the nude I was hoping for. Anyway still not that impressed and I WILL be purchasing myth ASAP along with sub culture lip pencil.
Swatch on hand below.

MAC Lustre Drops

Recently I've become utterly obsessed with highlighters in any form powder or liquid. I'm big into contouring and love the "where the natural light hits look" in other words cheekbones, middle of nose, brow bone, middle of chin and forehead and the Cupid's bow for pouty lips. I saw lustre drops a while back and did some research someone mentioned they remind them of a grown up version of benefit high beam and moon beam - I used these years ago so why not give MAC a chance?! I could go back to benefit but tbh I've become a mac snob and like my make up collection to be purely one brand - plus MAC is cheaper about £4 cheaper!!
To start with I just ordered pink rebel this is described as a blue based pink bronzed - I cannot in any way shape or form see any blue in it?! Anyway it arrived I ripped it open - loving the little bottle although I do wonder how great it'll be when/if it ever starts to run out. Anyway I'd already read not to rub these onto make up but to pay it in. I absolutely love the natural glow it gives! At first I couldn't really see it but once in the day light it looked fab. Straight away I got online and ordered sun rush.

Sun rush arrived today and it is a lot more golden than pink rebel but again a fab fab highlighter I also tried it under MAC pigment golden lemon to give it an extra boost and with it being more bronze I dripped two drops into my foundation and used all over my face. I've had two people stop me to say how well I look (guessing I normally look like shit!)

Big tip for applying is do your make up and then put three drops on cheek bone smudge this into place and pat pat pat I then swirl over with my HG 187 brush just to blend altogether. I tried it today as my highlighter when contouring and very happy with the results. Well worth £17.50 a bottle (18ml) it'll last a long long time.

Pictures below pink rebel on the right sun rush left. On my hand pink rebel is the too and sun rush at the bottom. Bare in mind I didn't blend to hard as I wanted you to see the colours.

MAC Face and Body Foundation

I've always used MAC mineralise creme compact foundation in nw20 - during my pale winter days and nw25 when I go out in an evening or as the weather warns up. I've read a lot of good things about mac face and body and after selling my le rihanna lippy for £100 yes some crazy lady paid £100 for it I decided to splurge and where better than MAC in Selfridges Manchester. I had the help of a lovely girl who agreed n3 was a little light and n5 wow too dark on me! We mixed the two together as MAC don't make a n4 really MAC come on!! The mix was perfect meaning two bottles would be purchased at 20.50 each! More on that later! Anyway I have to same I've been wearing n3 alone for work and the mix when I've been going out - n5 will be perfect when I have a tan (going travelling for 3 months so hoping ill get me usage). I mixed the two in a pot so I don't have to try to mix on face on back of my hand I'm guessing I'm using slightly more n5 the n3 for the night time look. I love the consistency of this yes it goes on VERY watery but if you apply in circular motions with your, clean, fingers you can feel the product thickening an becoming more elastic feeling, it's so buildable, I've been apply two layers each time and found that sustainable to give a good medium coverage. I have fairly oily skin and this doesn't leave me looking greasy or shiny. I love it my new HG foundation. Even better its water resistant and it really is I tried it I covered my tattoo on my foot and went swimming when I got out my tattoo was still covered! Saying that it does wash off incredibly easy with make up remover - I'm in love!!! Goodbye mineralize hello face an body!
My only gripe is that I paid 20.50 for each 50ml bottle online on mac cosmetics you can get 120ml (over double the size) for 26.50 that's a £6 difference - kicking myself for being so so impatient! Ah well I may get bored and these will last a long long time! Ill update in a few months as I have read comments that if it gets too warm it separates ruining the product :-/
I have swatched the colours and bare in mind I like to be around the warmer side of nw20 - nw25. The swatches are l-r n3, my mixed n4 and n5.
Thanks for reading :) xx

Can't complain about MACs customer service!

Wow mac really are great, I spend a fortune a month on their products so I do deserve some kind of honour in return. Recently I went to the mac store in Birmingham and was sold gold deposit I'm nw25 and this stuff looked like orange sludge on me! When I took it back they weren't interested at all in helping me, I emailed MAC and have just had a response they are sending modify and gentle and have apologised profusely. My faith in human kind has been restored!

MAC Blush an MSF

MAC are awful at releasing LE MSF and blush and I spend my life trying to track down old faithfuls. Please mac make them permanent.

Mineralise skin finish
Shimpagne - champagne colour shimmer I use this for highlighting its a lovely colour, I've nearly hit the pan and will be gutted when it runs out. 9/10

Stereo rose - absolutely love this it was re released with the apres chic collection and sold out fast! I'm actually scared to use it too often in case it runs out. A great pink shimmery msf I use it as a blush perfect pinky colour. 10/10

Porcelain Pink - another good highlighter with a pale pink hue. It's a little bit light on me as I'm nw25 and feel this isn't ideal. I use rarely. 6/10

Mineralize Blush
Gentle - gorgeous purple pink blush goes on and blends like a dream a little goes a long way as it has a lot of pigmentation. My go to blush when contouring. 10/10

Supernova - this is seriously pigmented almost magenta with a swirl of gold through LE but I don't think ill ever run out. 8/10

Earth to Earth - a fab LE blush half of it is bronze the other veined with mauve I swirl the two together and get a fab bronze with purple through but without being in your face love it!!! The closest I could get to my old fave cheek and cheerful. 10/10

Sheer-tone blush
Sunbasque - I was sold this last week I loved it in store now I feel it has to many orange undertones for me, saying that its an ok neutral but a bit too shimmery for my liking which is odd as I live MSFs which ten to be very shimmery. 6/10

Powder blush
Taupe - OMG I ordered this through the pro store and it is the best contouring colour ever only had it two days and I am in love. It doesn't run orange, red or ashy it's ideal. Be light though it is seriously pigmented and blend blend blend those harsh lines! 10/10

Iridescent powder pressed
Verve-acious - this was from the fafi collection. It's a bronze colour and I love the colour but I hate the chunks of glitter in it. Maybe it'll be ok on holiday but its not an everyday item. 3/10

Thank you for reading. Example of contouring photo below x

My Eyeshadow and Pigment Collection

Pigments
Golden Lemon - one of my newer pigments I have found this to be a bit chunkier than my other pigments but love the colour, have been layering it over crest the wave for a sunset eye look. I've also pressed this so I can carry in my large palette. 9/10 one mark off for the chunky texture.

Magenta Madness - a full on matte neon pink I love this have been using with fix plus as an eyeliner with smokey eyes it's in your face but fab. 9/10

Neo Orange - neon matte orange. This is going to be a fab summer colour. Have worn once so far with Maria's mood an bright fuchsia in the crease. 9/10

Bright fuchsia - LE wonder woman but I believe you can still get this in store. Lovely colour but for some reason when I tried with magenta madness I couldn't see a difference beside the shimmer in bright fuschia. 9/10

Electric coral - my newest pigment and it is stunning it has a lovely golden shimmer that is very subtle and looks fab with a sunset eye. Or alone as a crease colour with nude shadows such a satin taupe. This one I'd repurchase but it will last forever a little goes a loooong way. I've also been mixing with strobe cream and using as a cream blush it gives you a gorgeous healthy glow. 10/10

Holiday pigments LE
Dusty desire - a lovely deep purple have been using this on my outer v and as an eyeliner. It's a shame it was LE but I can't see me running out any time soon. 10/10

Femininity - B E A UT I FUL it's pretty much a dupe for stars and rockets but has a fair bit oh shimmer I love it and have been using as a crease colour along with the other colours from this collection. I'm dreading the day I run out of this but I think I could settle with stars and rockets alone. 10/10

Prettified - a mauve colour, I'm not sure how keen I am on this and it is rather chunky, I get quite a lot of fallout when using this colour I won't repurchase. 5/10

Maribu - I feel the same about this as I prettified its ok as a wash and that's about it, chunky with a fair bit of fall out. Feels gritty when applied. 5/10

Glitters Brilliants
Crystalled Lime - fab colour I've packed it over swimming and bitter looks cool but do get some fall out. I won't need to repurchase you get loads. 7/10

Crystalled Orange - another great colour I used over free to be gives a good glitter but you do get fall out. 7/10

Mineralize eyeshadows
Winter pursuit Apres chic collection. this is a lovely colour for everyday wear. I jazz it up but washing the lid with cranberry first and then putting this over it, I also run cranberry into the crease. It looks lovely paired with fireside in the outer v. 10/10

Fireside - apres chic collection, used as described above 10/10

Under your spell duo - magic, mischief and mirth collection. Pink and bronze its ok but get a lot of glitter fallout I don't reach for it very often. 5/10

Blue flame - black with blue through I like this colour better when applied wet it makes to blue show through well, it's good for a twist on a smokey eye in the outer v or used as an eyeliner. 8/10

Young punk - black with purple glitter through. Fab colour worn alone again best when applied with a damp brush you get better colour payoff and less fall out. 8/10

Smutty green - as above but with a tinge of green glitter through it. 8/10

Cinderfella - I dropped this gutted it smashed easily but I did repress. Since dropping it seems to have more fall out. This is black with a silver glitter through again a good twist on a smokey eye. 8/10

Deeply dashing - pressed pigment. Fab colour looks lovely with cranberry and great in the autumn. Good brown colour pay off. 9/10

Rich metal highlighter la mode. This is an ok colour but I don't use it as a highlighter it leaves me look grubby. I occasionally wash the eyelid with this colour but I wouldn't miss it if I didn't have it. 4/10

Cream colour base
Luna - not only an eyeshadow but this is what I use it for mainly. I looks gorgeous in the corner of the eye to open it up especially with a smokey look. 9/10

Red - not sure of the name of this it's so old the label has come off. I use this as a base when using pinks and purples it just adds a little pizazz. 7/10

Paint pots.
Blackground - love this as a primer it's great and perfect primer for a smokey eye. 9/10

Painterly - loved as a primer by many Celebs and I can see why, neutralises any pigmentation in the eye lid and keeps eyeshadow put all day without any creasing. My go to primer. 10/10

Fast Colour
Rose - not really keen on this leaves me looking like I've been punched think it will be back to Mac'd when I have chance. 4/10

Palettes
Carbon - great for outer v and not only for use with greys and blacks, adds extra dimension to purples and blues. Also use it to set liner when tight lining. 10/10

Silver ring - a lovely dark silver for working with a smokey eye, great colour to transition into dark greys and blacks. 9/10

Electra - very similar to silver ring yet surprisingly a more silver tinge. 9/10

Knight divine - perfect crease colour for smokey eyes and looks great under bottom lashes. A charcoal grey. 10/10

Cranberry - a deep cranberry well pigmented a little goes a long way. I just love this colour I use it loads as an all over wash on in the crease a definite I couldn't be without. 10/10

Sketch - this is a good colour for the outer v and I often use as an eyeliner when creating a purple smokey eye. 9/10

Smut - great neutral colour a great with a tinge of purple through it. I like this as a middle colour for smokey eyes but also works well with other neutrals. 9/10

Passionate - now this is very well pigmented and if applied to heavily you can look like you have a rash it's a dark pink/purple and very vibrant I use as a crease colour and blend been blend blend blend!

Vanilla - a simple brow highlighting colour its not too sparkly or shiny but its not flat either. i looks whiter on me than a creamy colour you would expect. I also often find myself washing this over my lid before applying colour. I like it, it's nothing special but I like its simplicity and I use it everyday 10/10

Wedge - again I think this is a really boring colour but it is a vital transitional colour to apply around crease colour and clean in highlight I use this everyday and couldn't be without it. This is a flat brown and very similar to my skin tone so it isn't obvious I have a transitional colour on which is vital. 10/10

Beauty Marked - a purpley browny slightly glittery shadow. I use this mainly on my outer v although today used as my crease colour with neutral shades and I was pleased with how it blended. 9/10

Satin Taupe - probably one of macs most popular shades its a browny taupey colour, I have read some get a purple pay off from this but I don't. Ill often combine with browns and cranberry a good solid everyday easy to wear colour. 10/10

Woodwinked - this gets really mixed reviews its a brown/glittery colour and at first I hate it but I now find myself reaching for time and time again looks good combined with satin taupe and beauty marked for a brown smokey look. 9/10

Crest the wave - I like this colour it's very pale matte yellow and exactly what I was looking for to create a sunset eye I have been layering this with golden lemon just to give it a bit more punch. 8/10

Bitter - a funky vibrant lime green. I like it better in the pan though as I find it hard to work with other wise. I have found myself using in on the inner corner of my eye. I won't repurchase. 7/10

Lucky green - I love this green it's more vibrant than it looks (looks almost olive green) and has great pigmentation I will definitely repurchase. 9/10

Humid - this is a dark green and looks great to finish a smokey green eye I also use it as a lower lash line 9/10

Pretty twisted - a matte turquoise a good colour and I don't use it very often simply because its a little hard to blend. 7/10

Aquadisiac - again a shimmery turquoise blends fantastically and I live using it as a liner. 8/10

Strike a pose - I actually haven't used this yet and swatching it it appears to be a sheer shiny blue. I think it'll look amazing with a navy in the crease so ill need to but that next ;) 7/10 (I haven't used it yet)

Naked lunch - a perfect pale brown frost perfect for highlighting brow bones and I often was my eyes with this before layering on mascara this does pull slightly pink on me but that ok. 8/10

Free to be - I'm really disappointed by this so little colour pay off and very chalk I used it last week as a base for electric coral it didn't crease but hardly any color when applying alone. 4/10

Hepcat - a lovely purple/pink it can look like you have a bruise if not blended carefully remember to look in natural light. 6/10

Laven-dah - another ok eyeshade reminds me a milkshake with a purple wash its not very vibrant but is ok in the inner corners to brighten a look. 5/10

Stars and rockets - I love this pearlescent pink/purple/blue it's quite sheer and does need building but its a really unique colour. Close Dupe femininity.

Shadowy lady - I feel this is very close to beauty marked minus the glitter. It's a little chalky for me and can look patchy am using in the outer v occasionally but I'm not sold on it. 4/10

So there's my VERY long e/s blog. MAC eyeshadows can be expensive but I do believe they last much longer than other brands and benefit from good pigmentation. Maybe save and buy some essential colours :)

My MAC Lip Collection 😍

My make up box is bursting at the brim with MAC - here's a brief description of items, review, dupes etc.

Amplied
coral polyp - was from the dame Edna collection. A vibrate coral reminds me a bit of impassioned. Love the vibrancy and shine shame about the staying power :( I'd rate this 7/10

Impassioned - again fab pinky coral colour it really is stunning but similar to coral polyp and not the best staying power but great if your lips are dry 7/10

Morange - very orange seems to have more staying power than other amplified lipsticks but a difficult colour to carry off its my holiday lipstick looks great with a tan. 6/10

Lustre
Oh oh oh - LE from archies girl, I was after a nude lipstick and this seemed ideal when swatched however on my lips it seems to have a burgundy tinge I now apply plenty of concealer prior to wearing in order to neutralise the red in my lips. A good nude with a goldy shimmer but not sure I would repurchase. 5/10

Cockney Red - my first MAC lipstick purchased and I've got through several of these however these days I don't pick it up as often. It's a good true red with a lovely sheen. I do believe its a must have in my make up collection. 9/10

Frost
Angel - love these it's a nude with a pinky tinge it's a perfect day time colour or to pair with smokey eyes. 10/10

Costa Chic - my newest mac lippy got this on back 2 mac what more can you not love about a free lippy ;) it's vibrant a true coral and I don't know why but makes me look instantly tanned!! This is certainly a new fave 10/10

Satin
Cyber - went through a serious rock chick stage or mid life crisis and everything had to be as dark as possible. Love this lipstick and its one my husband always comments on. It's a black based purple and has good staying power. My only issue is its so dark that if its no applied carefully you can see a rim inside your mouth of your own lip colour so I apply again over concealer. 9/10

Rebel - again a deep purple but more of a burgundy tinge. I did by the purple from the strength collection but sold on eBay as it was a very close dupe for this the only difference being the finish. A great autumn colour 9/10

Matte -
Candy yum yum - possibly my favourite MAC lipstick lasts forever on the lips and is a blue based pink - not for the faint hearted but wow!! I'd give this 11/10 so glad it's in the permanent line now thank you MAC!!

Heroine - I already blogged about this it's gorgeous! 10/10 make it permanent!!

Firm form - LE strength collection. I literally spent days of my life tracking this down I live near Manchester and finally found it in Birmingham! Another rock colour purple based black with a gold shimmer. Gorgeous winter colour be sure to apply concealer to lips. 8/10

Viva glam - on the fence with this one a lovely brown but I'm not a fan of browns and neither is my mum who gave it me. Ill probably wear more in the autumn but its my least used lippy. 5/10

Lipgloss
Dazzle glass - extra amps! Not a huge gloss fan but this looks fab layered over impassioned really gives it a glittery kick and ill definitely repurchase when it runs out. 9/10 only because not a gloss fan :)

Cremesheen glass, star quality - Gorgeous pink i like this gloss its thick and has a good colour pay off looks good in the summer when lipsticks are just too heavy. 10/10

Superglass, totally bang - my newest lip gloss and I'm really pleased with it a lovely purple with glitter I'm looking forward to wearing this in the summer and will be trying it over heroine. 8/10 I've not used it properly yet.

Thanks for reading ill add some dupes when I come across them

OMG My Heroine Lipstick Arrived

OMG Heroine lipstick what can I say this is possibly the most amazing lippy colour MAC have re released. It's now sold out online and boy am I glad I bagged two! This colour is a blue based purple it reminds of a purple version of candy yum yum if you understand what I mean? Great colour and can be layered on for an intense look or applied lightly for a more subtle look. I applied this at 1pm this afternoon, walked the dog, went out for a meal, had a shower and washed face and there's still a tinge of purple left. My husband did comment he preferred the colour later in the day. If you can bag one get one!! In the picture we were out walking the dog I'd had the lippy on for about an hour no touch ups :)
PS My husband thought it was funny to comment that heroine is an appropriate name for me as MAC is my drug lol

How it began

First things first, My name is Kelly and I am 31 and an absolute make up freak. Ive recently been watching a lot of pixiwoo and gossmakeupartist on youtube, this inspired me to start my own blog. As a teacher my day make up is fairly mundane so boy do I make up for this at weekends!

Anyway on to the important bits how did my make up obsession begin? After, weeks, no months of chatting away to my husband about MAC and spending tens, no hundreds of pounds on MAC make up I've decided to chat to people who actually care about it, no matter how interested he pretends to be about contouring, highlighting and limited edition lipsticks I can no see his eyes glaze over the minute I say "Hey I've tried this new eyeshadow as a crease colour!"

Anyway a brief description of my MAC obsession, I've always loved MAC but really became obsessed in January when the Apres Chic collection came out. My birthday is in January and when my folks asked what I'd like there was no hesitation - MAC makeup! I spent a lot of money in store and online and now this obseesion has continued, I keep my eye out for new products and order as soon as I can. I'll add a list with a brief review of the MAC items I own. My essentials that are used daily are the studio fix moisturiser, prep and prime future length lash serum, fluid brow in deep dark brunette, prep and prime mascara, studio fix mascara in black, nw25 mineralise creme foundation and nw20/25 concealer in studio fix, moisture cover concealer in nw20 for under my eyes, gentle mineralise blush and a couple of my many MAC eyeshadows.

Thanks for reading I'll update regularly especially to give my opinions on new releases :)
